Media Consent and Visibility

At Cat Paterson, we value both authentic visibility and sovereign choice. This policy outlines how we may gather and share photos, videos, audio, and written reflections during our events—and how you can choose what feels right for you.

Why We Document

We occasionally capture moments from our in-person events to:

  • Share the energy and spirit of the gathering

  • Celebrate our community and collective growth

  • Invite others into future experiences

  • Create content for education, storytelling, or promotion (such as social media, website, print materials, or teaching tools)

All documentation is done with deep respect for your privacy, presence, and personal process.

Your Consent Matters

You are never required to be photographed or recorded.

Participation in media sharing is entirely optional, and your comfort will always be prioritised.

At the point of registration, you’ll be asked to agree to this policy. You may:

  • Step aside during group photos or recordings

  • Let us know privately if you'd prefer not to be included

  • Request to remain anonymous or be referred to by first name only

If you're ever unsure, we encourage you to speak to us on the day of the event—or contact us before or after. We will always do our best to honour your wishes.

What You’re Consenting To (When You Opt In)

If you choose to give your consent, you allow Cat Paterson and her collaborators to:

  • Photograph or record you in group or individual settings

  • Use your image, voice, or creative contributions (quotes, reflections, testimonials)

  • Share media in promotional or educational content (such as social media, website, print materials, podcasts, or digital resources)

  • Repost content you’ve voluntarily shared (such as public social posts, journal excerpts, or tagged images)

  • Use shared media without financial compensation, in the spirit of creative collaboration

We will never use content in a way that distorts your image or message, and will never sell your information or media.

How to Update or Withdraw Consent

If at any time you wish to:

  • Remove a photo or video from future use

  • Clarify your boundaries around media

  • Request anonymity or limited visibility
